Fort Myers Fishing Report – Sheepshead, Cobia, Snapper & Spring Action Heating Up

Fishing has been heating up across the board here in Fort Myers and the surrounding waters, with solid action on our inshore, nearshore, and offshore trips over the past couple of weeks.

Nearshore Fishing – Cobia Bite Strong

Our 6-hour nearshore trips have been the best bet lately, with a strong cobia bite around structure, wrecks, and reefs off Fort Myers and Sanibel.

We’ve been finding lots of cobia, along with some big snook mixed in closer to the beaches and structure. The reefs have also been holding sheepshead and smaller mangrove snapper, keeping rods bent and coolers filling.

Offshore Fishing – Snapper, Amberjack & Big Sharks

On our 8-hour offshore trips, the wrecks have been producing big mangrove snapper, along with some hard-fighting amberjack that are always a blast to pull on.

We’ve also been getting into some big sharks offshore, adding even more excitement for anglers looking for a serious fight.

Inshore Fishing – Trout, Spanish Mackerel & Tarpon Season Incoming

Our 4–5 hour inshore trips have been producing consistent action, with sheepshead fishing staying hot and plenty of bait starting to show up throughout the backwaters and flats.

We’re also seeing Spanish mackerel moving through, adding some fast-paced action, and with water temperatures rising, tarpon season is right around the corner, setting things up for some exciting fishing in the coming weeks.
