Frequently Asked Questions & Policies

Q- What is included in the cost of the trip?

A- Your Fishing charter will include all applicable fishing licenses, rods and reels to use, all fishing gear and tackle, ice for your catch, ice for the drink/food cooler, fuel for the boat*, and lots of smiles

*Fuel Surcharges may be added due to the crazy fluctuation in prices-thanks for your understanding!

Q- What should I bring on the trip?

A- A pair of polarized sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, any food or beverages you which to consume ( no glass containers, no exceptions!), a light rain jacket/sweater (gets cold on morning runs), a cooler to put your catch in, Gallon size ziplock bags for your fillets. Cooler should be left in your car.

Q- Is there anything I should not bring?

A- Glass containers, illegal drugs, excessive alcohol, GPS tracking devices (phones, handheld GPS, Smart Watches, Tablets, etc) and firearms are all prohibited. Phones will be collected and placed into a faraday bag/dry box. There is zero signal therefore no reason to use a phone offshore. Your captain will take any and all pictures you want.... If you need to question if you can bring it, most likely you already have your answer. When you join us for a fishing charter, we are taking you to catch fish and have a great day on the water. This is how we support our families. YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO THE GPS COORDINATES WE ARE FISHING. If you are specifically coming for the numbers, please book elsewhere. If we catch you trying to steal the numbers, the trip will be terminated immediately and there will be other consequences. We are all about teaching! If you want to learn how to read bottom and find new spots, ask us! We will do our best to describe how and what we are doing. If you arent sure, please feel free to ask the captain.

Q- Sometimes I get seasick. Is There any way to prevent it?

A- The best way is to take an anti nausea/motion sickness remedy the night before. Several over the counter pills are available, such as Dramamine and Bonine. There are also patches, wrist bands, etc. I personally take Bonine, a chewable pill; one the night before and one in the morning when I wake up. Please contact your doctor for a his or her recommendation.

Q-What is your cancellation policy?

A- Cancellations made 30 days prior to trip reservation date can receive a 100% refund. Trips cancelled inside of this will loose their deposit. Trips cancelled with less than 7 days before reserved date will have your credit card charged for the full amount of the trip. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS ON SPLIT CHARTER TRIPS UNLESS THE TRIP IS CANCELLED BY THE CAPTAIN. ON SPLIT TRIPS, PAYMENT IN FULL REQUIRED SO WE ARE NOT LEFT AT THE DOCK IN THE EVENT THE OTHER PARTIES ARE A NO SHOW. The captain maintains the right to cancel the trip in the event of hazardous weather or other acts of god. If the captain deems the weather unsafe, your deposit will be applied to a future trip, or a 100% refund will be given. If you decide to cut a trip short because you are seasick, payment for the trip is still required in full. On split party trips, WE DO NOT COME BACK IN FOR BEING SEA SICK.

Q- Can I bring my own fishing rod?

A- Absolutely! While you are welcome to bring your favorite rod and reel, space on the boat is limited. I do provide rods and reels to use, so if you want to bring yours, please let us know ahead of time. Our gear has proven itself inshore, nearshore and Deep Sea Fishing time and time again! If you have any particular question, feel free to reach out before your trip!

Q- Can I bring adult beverages (alcohol) aboard?

A- Yes. If you are of legal drinking age, I do not have a problem with you bringing a few beers to enjoy on the water. However, I am not out to babysit. Drinking should be done in moderation, as we are on a fishing trip, not a drinking trip. The captain reserves the right to cancel the trip at any time he feels the safety of himself or its passengers are hindered due to excessive drinking with no refund.

Q- What happens if it rains or the forecast is bad?

A- The great part about fishing is that the fish don't care if it is raining! :) In the event of inclement weather, the captain reserves the right cancel or postpone the trip.

Q- Is it customary to tip the captain/mate?

A- While it is never a requirement to tip, it is customary to tip 15-20% in the service industry. If you feel your captain or mate has gone above and beyond, feel free to show your appreciation.

Q- Can we keep our catch and will you clean it for us?

A- As long as the fish falls within the legal limits of what can be kept, absolutely. The only exception may be on big sharks as they pose a safety hazard. We will also gladly fillet and bag your catch (Bring some gallon size ziplocks!). Due to time constraints, gutting/scaling will not be provided...
